Umar Danbatta receives an award for his contributions to national security and development
Vice chairman of the NCC receives an award
Traditional rulers and community leaders have commended Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), for his role in enhancing security and supporting other initiatives aimed at developing Danbatta Local Government Area, Kano State, and its environs, as well as his contributions to national development.
The traditional rulers and community leaders spoke at a weekend event in Danbatta community, Kano, organized by Danbatta (Community) Charity Foundation (DCF) in collaboration with four other organizations, including Zauren Tuntuba, a non-profit organization; Danbatta Academic Forum (DAF); Danbatta Reporters; and Duniya Ba Hutu.
The event commemorated the graduation of ten female students from the Muslim Community College of Health Sciences and Technology in Funtua, as well as another twenty empowered females enrolled in vocational training focused on tailoring and fashion, all of whom were sponsored by Prof. Danbatta.
Prof. Danbatta was also presented with a special recognition award for his immense contribution to the security of the Danbatta community, among other community development initiatives, during the event, which included the provision of sewing machines and other fashion tools to the two sets of graduands.
Danbatta Achievements

He emphasized that the local community's security efforts had improved as a result of Prof. Danbatta's personal security assistance. “Danbatta has been a leader in assisting the community with security issues by sponsoring vigilante groups and funding all aspects of security planning in the local government area, and these efforts have consistently yielded positive results.” According to Waziri.
He also urged Prof. Danbatta not to relinquish his philanthropic gesture of assisting the community and acknowledged the critical role that the Danbatta-led NCC is playing in leveraging the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) through the Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs) that the NCC is implementing across the country in enhancing the country's security of lives and property.
In a similar vein, one of the community's leaders and Chairman of DCF, Alhaji Nasiru Danguda, spoke glowingly about Prof. Danbatta's numerous initiatives aimed at contributing to the community's overall development.
In response, the EVC expressed gratitude to the Foundation, its partners, and community leaders for recognizing his modest contributions to the development of Danbatta and the surrounding community, stating that "this gesture can only encourage us to do more for our community."
