Voiding vs Deleting Transactions in Patriot What’s the Difference?

Void or delete a bill or bill payment check

A simple void is going to save you a ton of time if you ever have to fix an error – and I’m all about finding the most efficient way to get through a cleanup engagement. Voiding an invoice will always affect your AR account and Balance Sheet. Once done, create another journal entry with the current date using the same accounts to offset the first journal entry created. The checks included in the deleted deposit return to the undeposited funds account, which can be found in Record Deposits under the Banking menu. While you can delete the deposit, you’ll see that there’s also an option to void it. When you delete a deposit, it’s removed completely from QuickBooks.
