How to Configure the iPhone or iPad's Preferred Language
On an iPhone, adding multiple languages and designating one as the preferred language is a relatively simple process.
1.From your iPhone's home screen, navigate to "Settings."
2.Scroll down the settings menu and tap on "General."
3.Following that, scroll down and select "Language & Region" to continue.
4.This is where you'll find the iPhone's default language. To view the available languages, tap on "Other Languages."
5.Now, all you have to do is tap on the additional language you wish to use. When prompted, select "Keep English". Your iPhone will restart immediately to take effect of the new language setting.
6.Under "Preferred Language Order" in the Language & Region menu, you'll see two languages. You can rearrange this order by clicking and dragging the triple-line icon next to each language.
7.When you change this order, you'll receive a notification that your iPhone will need to be restarted to take effect. Continue by tapping on "Continue".
That concludes the tutorial on how to configure and use preferred languages on your iPhone.
How To Change The Region on Your iPhone / iPad
Changing the region of your iPhone is far more straightforward than adding and switching to a new language. This, however, can be accomplished through the same Settings menu.
1.If you haven't already, return to the Settings app > General.
2.Tap on the "Region" option in the "Language & Region" menu, as shown in the screenshot below.
3.Now, simply tap on the country you wish to visit. You'll be asked to confirm your action, and your iPhone will restart immediately to apply the region change.
That is essentially all there is to it. How effortless was that?
Bear in mind that when you change the country on your iPhone, you will also be given the option of changing the iPhone language to the country's native tongue. For instance, if you switch from the United Kingdom to the United States, your iPhone will prompt you to switch from English (UK) to English (US).
Depending on the country you've chosen, your iPhone will display temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, a calendar in Gregorian, Japanese, or Buddhist format, and even a 12- or 24-hour clock.
