How To Change The Text Size of a Website in Safari for iPhone and iPad

The Safari browser is a graphical web browser that is developed by Apple, it was developed based on the WebKit engine. It was first released on the desktop in 2003 with Mac OS X Panther, before a mobile version was then created been bundled with iOS devices since the iPhone's introduction in 2007. The Safari browser is the default browser on the Apple devices.

Not all websites are created equal. Some websites are created using tiny fonts, while other websites have a huge text size. When you’re browsing making use of the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad, you can change the text size to suit your needs.

When you’re reading web pages on your Mac, you might be used to simply pressing the Command+”+” keyboard shortcut to increase the size of text. But how are you going to do that with the touchscreen interface on your iPad or iPhone?

You can use Safari’s built-in text zoom feature. This feature only changes the text size of the web page. It keeps everything else as it is—the images and other UI elements will stay the same. Once you’ve changed the size of the text in the website, Safari will remember it the next time you open the page.

1. To get started, first open the Safari browser on your iPad or iPhone and visit the web page where you think the text is small or too big and you want to increase or decrease the text size.

2. Next, tap the “aA” button on the left-hand side of the URL bar.

3. Tap aA Button from Safari

4. Here, tap the “a” button to reduce the text size, or tap the “A” button to increase the text size.

5. Increase or Decrease Text Size in Safari

6. The default text zoom is set as 100%. You can reduce the text size to 50% or you can take it up all the way to 300% depending on how bigger or small you want the text size.

2. Tap to Reset Text Size to Default

The Safari’s text zoom feature works in the Reader View as well. If you would like to read a long article without the site elements in a larger text size, it is recommended that you use the Reader Mode.

To Use The Reader Mode Follow this Step

1. After loading the page, tap and hold the “aA” button to enable the Reader View.

2. Tap and Hold "aA" Button in Safari

3. Then, tap the “aA” button again. From here, you can then increase or decrease the size of text.

4. Increase or Decrease Text Size in Reader View

5. Reader View will remember your text size preference no matter which website you’re using.

You can easily navigate the safari browser and enjoy your view, either the tiny or huge text depending on your choice.
