How to Make a PowerPoint Presentation Available to Everyone Using Zoom

In this article, we'll look at how to share a PowerPoint presentation, or any presentation, via Zoom. For simple presentations, this can be achieved with a few clicks; but, for more complex presentations, you may want extra tools to complete the task.

How can I share a PowerPoint presentation during a Zoom Meeting

When giving a presentation where you do not need to see your notes, sharing a PowerPoint presentation is a straightforward solution.

1. Open your presentation and minimize any other windows that aren't necessary. Keeping the room free of clutter and distractions will make it easier to work in it.

2. When you're ready to present, log into your Zoom call and select Share Screen from the drop-down menu at the bottom. Choose your presentation from the drop-down menu.

3. In PowerPoint, go to the Slide Show option and select "From the Beginning" as the start of the slide show. This should be done before anyone else joins the call in order to have the smoothest presentation.

4. Using the buttons in the lower left-hand corner of the screen or the keyboard controls, go through your presentation, as is standard practice.

How can you share a PowerPoint presentation with Zoom while keeping the slideshow notes visible?

If you need to see your notes more clearly, use a second monitor with PowerPoint's Presenter View features. Then, on one screen, you will only be able to see your notes and controls, while the rest of the audience will see your presentation on another.

1. To see your notes, open your PowerPoint and select Presenter View from the View menu. In this mode, two windows are opened: one for the presentation and another for the control panel.

2. Move the control panel to the main screen and the presentation window to the secondary screen using the dragging and dropping method. It will not be necessary to hold your neck at an angle in order to handle the controls if you are utilizing a camera. You will be able to watch and control your presentation while looking directly into it.

3. Join the Zoom meeting and, at the bottom of the screen, select Share Screen. Select a presentation window from the drop-down menu.
