How You Can Set Up Your Two-Factor Authentication On eBay
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a wonderful security tool, and it is always recommended. Most of the apps have made it pretty easy to turn on 2FA, and also the eBay is not an exception. Here is how you can enable it and make yourself safer.
You can set up 2FA in either the eBay desktop website or the eBay mobile app for your Android and your iPhone.
One of the things that made difference with the eBay’s 2FA is that, if you have set it up on the mobile app, then you will have to use the eBay app for the verification when you sign in to the website. If you are going to set up SMS verification, you will need to set up 2FA on eBay’s website rather than doing the settings on the mobile app.
It is not unknown for services to use app-based logins that is within their own app, but it’s unusual that there will not be an option to use an authenticator app like that of the "Authy" (a preferred authenticator app), Microsoft Authenticator, or Google Authenticator. Still, that’s no reason not to turn the 2FA on, as it’s by far the most effective way to stop an unauthorized access to an online service.
