How To Turn Your Message Requests Off In Instagram

Instagram, Social Media.

Instagram Default Setting

By default setting in Instagram, when someone you don’t follow on Instagram messages you on, the person will end up in a separate Requests section. If you don’t want the messages or you don't want any message requests from unknown Instagram users, you can turn it off altogether.

Here is a way for you to turn it off.

How The “Don’t Receive Requests” Feature Works in Your Instagram

The integration of Facebook and that of Facebook Messenger with Instagram brought about so many new features to the messaging platform of Instagram (like the themes, emoji responses, and more). Also it has the ability to turn off message requests for any new conversation.

Once you have enabled this feature, only your Instagram users who you are following or who are in your contact book will be allowed to message you.

Although the Message button will still be visible on your profile platform, but when they are trying to message you, they will be seeing an error message saying “[The user] can’t receive your message. They do not allow any new message requests from everybody.”
