Yet, these places are best for playing badminton where the lands are limitless, with the continuous emerging lands with no boundaries. But playing the game on the courts is amazing and everlasting fun with multiple benefits. What? Courts, you might be wondering. So badminton can also be played on the courts making the game a more systematic and entertaining one. So let's discuss everything in this blog about badminton, courts, size, benefits, everything. Read the blog till the end to know more.

What is a Badminton Court?

A badminton court is an area allotted for playing the badminton game. It is rectangular covering a larger and wider area divided with the nets in between. In the game, two teams stand against each other, hold a racquet and hit the shuttlecock with the racquet, and thereby, the points are allocated to the players based on their performance. The benefits of playing badminton on the badminton court are that it provides a well-furnished neat surface, enhancing the bounce rate and further reducing the risk of injury among the players.

What is the ideal size of the badminton court?

Yet, the size depends on several factors like the number of players involved in the team, the size of the land and many more. There is still an average preference among the players, which makes it an ideal size for the badminton court. However, the ideal size of the badminton court is the length of 13.4 meters, a width of 6.1 meters for double matches and a bit narrow for single matches, making it an ideal size for a perfect badminton court. The boundary lines for servings, the singles sidelines, and the double sidelines define the playable area during the game.

What are the different types of Badminton Courts?

When it comes to badminton courts, several types differ in quality, surface, design, and other factors. You can choose the best one for you based on your preference. Here are a few types of badminton courts which I have mentioned.

Synthetic Court

Synthetic is a type of material that is decorated on the upper layer. Usually, these types of courts are made up of a wooden surface at the base and on the top, the synthetic mats are laid to make it comfortable for the players to play. It is one of the most common types of badminton courts where the players play. These types of courts provide proper bounce and anti-slippery surfaces that help protect your knees from injuries, reducing the strain.

Cement Surface Court

Cement Surface Floors are a traditional type of court construction that was used in the earlier period during the olden days. These types of floors were mainly installed in outdoor badminton, which is laid out using concrete. It is not suitable for playing it regularly as they do not provide any protection to the player's knees and might end up in injury. Thus, they are considered best for the players who play badminton regularly.

Wooden Badminton Court

Wooden Badminton Courts were popularized after the cement floor courts, where the players faced a bit of injury while playing badminton. Similarly, badminton courts apart from synthetic are also wooden courts that the players play during the match. These are shock-resistant and also provide a proper bounce rate, relieving you from injuries. However, one con of wooden badminton play is that it might make the players slip due to sweat by chance, leading to an injury that might not be desirable to play.

Rubber Surface

If you are searching for something resistant to injuries, even these rubber mat floorings are considered best for preventing injuries among players. These are mostly suitable for the indoor badminton court. They are cushioned and made from natural material giving it an ideal choice for several activities. The rubber flooring is also easy to maintain and is shock-resistant.

Hence, the following are the different types of badminton courts available for playing badminton. Select the right type of court for you to prevent or avoid any injuries to your health.
