Why Chelsea’s England to Spurs Transfer Window Makes Sense

If Chelsea had any chance of getting a trophy this season, they'll be in for a big fight with Tottenham Hotspur. Harry Redknapp is one of the best managers in the game, and he has an impressive transfer record. He's also got a well-oiled financial structure, which means he'll have the funds to do what he wants with his squad.

Who had the better season: Liverpool or Man City?

Despite Tottenham's record, they've had a decent season. They've managed to stay in the top three, and they've even qualified for the Europa League. Those results will make Spurs fans happy, but there are still some problems. There is a lack of a clear-cut first choice striker, and it's a good chance that Kane isn't going anywhere.

But that doesn't mean that they're not chasing targets. The team is looking to strengthen the midfield and attack. And they're already linked with several high-profile players, from Ousmane Dembele to Raheem Sterling.

One of the most talked about players on the market is Brazil's Richarlison. While his career hasn't gotten off the ground, he's still a young talent, and his name is being floated around this summer. It seems that he's particularly keen on a move to a club that can play in the Champions League, and he's reportedly interested in a move to Chelsea.

Raphinha's Leeds United exit is a deal that needed doing

If he doesn't get the move, he could end up in the same position that Raphinha found himself in last year. Although he's currently on loan at Leeds, he would add a lot of depth to the squad, and he has the potential to score at least seven times a season.

If he does come to Stamford Bridge, however, he's likely to remain on the bench. That said, he's still scored 14 goals and registered 10 assists over the past two seasons, and that's not a bad record.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also considering signing Wesley Fofana. The Leicester player has a knack for scoring goals, and he's been linked with a few major clubs, including Arsenal. However, he's also a little bit of a mystery, because his appearances have been sparse.

In other news, Chelsea are reportedly looking at a deal for Everton's Anthony Gordon. The young midfielder is 21 years old, and has a breakout season ahead of him. As of now, the club hasn't made a bid for him, and the asking price is likely to be a huge sum of money.

Another player who could be coming to Tottenham is a certain Hakim Ziyech. Though he's never been a starter for Chelsea, he has played 84 times in the past two seasons. His time at Stamford Bridge was marred by injury, and his resurgent career could be on the verge of a breakthrough at Tottenham.

Of course, if any of those players does move, it's unlikely that it will be to a rival in the Premier League, like Manchester United. Instead, it's likely that he'll end up at a team that's battling in the upcoming Europa League.
