Here Are The Best Windows 11 Features
Microsoft unveiled Windows 11 during a live virtual event, marking the company's first significant upgrade since launching Windows 10 in 2015. The latest version includes numerous enhancements and support for Android applications. Additionally, it has been redesigned to have a more modern appearance and a mac-like interface.
Windows 11 is available for free and will be rolled out to all Windows 10 users. Additionally, new PCs will include this latest version. By downloading the PC Health Check app from the Windows official website, you can determine whether your current Windows 10 PC qualifies for a free upgrade to Windows 11.
Here are the most recent and exciting updates.
You can download and run android apps on your Windows PC
Android applications are now supported on Windows 11-based PCs. On Windows 10, these apps were also supported, but they required the installation of Microsoft's 'Your Phone' app. However, there is no longer a requirement to download the Your Phone app with 11.
Android applications can be downloaded to a PC via the Amazon Appstore. There are currently about 500,000 android apps available in that store, including TikTok, Netflix, and Uber. This means that not all of the Google Playstore's 3.5 million apps are available on Amazon's Appstore.
The taskbar is now in the bottom centre and yes, there are widgets
Perhaps the first thing a user will notice upon booting the computer is the redesigned taskbar. The taskbar is no longer aligned to the left; it is now centered in the macOS style. While the clock, calendar, and other icons remain on the right, the left side has been cleared.
Widgets are a collection of information that a PC user can use to relax or catch up. It is powered by artificial intelligence and, according to Microsoft, when the Widgets icon is clicked, it "slides across your screen like a sheet of glass." Widgets can display information such as the calendar, news, weather, and a to-do list.
The user can rearrange and resize the widgets as desired and toggle the widgets interface to fill the entire screen.
The Start button has a new location – bottom centre!
Previously, the Start button was located on the left in previous Windows versions. That is no longer the case with Windows 11. All users of the new upgrade will notice that the Start button has been relocated to the bottom center of their PC screen, similar to how it appears on Mac computers.
According to Panos Panay, Microsoft's chief product officer, this new and central location was created to put the PC user in the center and bring much-needed options closer.
The new Start menu features a redesigned user interface that includes a search bar at the top and your pinned apps and recommended items below. As is customary, you can modify your user profile and power down your computer from the Start button.
New improvements in voice typing and touch experience
Those who plan to use Windows 11 on a tablet without a keyboard can now anticipate an enhanced touch experience. There is more space between taskbar icons, and the touch targets are significantly larger. Additionally, subtle visual cues have been integrated to assist users in resizing and moving windows.
In addition, tablet users will be able to feel and hear vibrations generated by clicking, editing, or sketching. According to Microsoft, "this will enhance the engagement and immersion of using the tablet pen."
Microsoft Teams is integrated and Microsoft Store is more robust
Microsoft Teams is integrated into the new OS's Taskbar and can be accessed similarly to Apple's FaceTime. With Microsoft Teams Chat integrated into the Taskbar, users can instantly connect with others via text, voice, or video calls, as well as chat, regardless of the platform on which they are working.
Additionally, the Microsoft Store is getting a new look and more apps are joining the family. Canva, Disney+, Visual Studio, and Zoom are just a few of the popular apps that are coming to the PC to make it more interesting and useful.
These are the most impressive of the announced features. Among the other features are a more immersive gaming experience thanks to new Xbox features, enhanced desktop support, and a smoother transition from monitor to tablet. There is no firm date for when they will be available, but Microsoft says it will be during the holiday season later this year.
