How to unsubscribe from Apple TV+ or other Apple subscriptions

If you were one of the many people who received a free Apple TV+ subscription when they purchased an Apple device, you may be wondering how to cancel that subscription.

The approach will vary depending on the device you're using, but we're here to guide you through all of the possibilities.

In a Browser

To begin, it's worth noting that you cannot cancel subscriptions via your Apple account in a browser via iCloud - they must be cancelled within the corresponding apps.

You can cancel Apple TV+ at tv.apple.com. If you're logged in, simply click the account icon in the upper right-hand corner, select settings, and scroll to the bottom of the page to view your subscription.

This can be done on any device that has a browser, including a PC, a Mac, an Android phone, or anything else. The same is true for Apple Music, which can be accessed at music.apple.com, and for many people, this will be the simplest and most straightforward method of canceling those subscriptions.

On an iPhone or iPad

For iPhone or iPad users, things are more organized, and you can access your subscriptions in a variety of ways.

In this case, you can cancel your subscription via the App Store or the Apple TV+ app. Both are identical, as they are located in your account settings.

Simply open either app, tap the account icon in the upper right-hand corner, and then select Manage Subscriptions. You'll be able to see what you're paying for and tap through to cancel.

On the Mac

On the Mac, you have a variety of options because you have multiple ways to access your Apple account and then your subscriptions. You may also use the browser options listed above.

Apple will typically direct you to Apple Music, a holdover from the days when iTunes was everything (in fact, Apple's own help pages include a link that attempts to open Music), but you can also access your subscriptions through the App Store. This is the same settings pane that appears when you access your Apple ID account via System Preferences - so it's easier to navigate directly to the App Store.

Open the App Store and tap on your icon in the bottom left corner. Then, at the top of the next page, tap "view information." Scroll down to Manage and you'll see Subscriptions - from which you can cancel anything you want.

On a PC

The simplest method is to use the browser method described above; otherwise, Apple will direct you to your Music app account subscriptions (formerly iTunes).

If this is already installed, that is fine; however, if it is not, you do not want to install it just to cancel a subscription and then have to reinstall the app; therefore, use the browser method.
