2. Now tap the “Devices” section located at the left-hand side in the “Settings” window. After clicking on Devices Noise Suppression Dropdown Options in Teams, locate the “Noise Suppression” option and then you tap the dropdown to pick between the four options either: Auto, High, Low, or Off.

 

Here is what each of this options does in the Teams desktop app:

 

Auto: This is set by default, this option make use of the Microsoft claimed AI to estimate the noise on the background and also to pick the appropriate noise suppression level accordingly.

High: The High option consumes ample computing resources to help cancel out all background noise while you are still speaking.

If you pick one of these settings from your profile it will apply to all your devices by default. Once you choose an option, simply press the Escape key to close the “Device settings” option and then you return to the home screen of the Teams app.

 

How to Reduce Background Noise When Having a Meeting in Teams

During your meetings and calls, the background noise, like the flipping of pages or shuffling of papers, can be a distraction to other participants. You can avoid such an embarrassing annoyances by just suppressing the noise (or by simply playing soft music while you are hanging out with your friends or team over a call).

 

1. First, tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the Meeting window and choose the “Device settings” option. From the “Device settings” menu, navigate and locate the “Noise suppression” option then use the dropdown to pick one of the settings.

 

2. You can now press the Esc key to close the “Device settings” menu and then return back to the Meeting window.

 

How to Disable the Background Noise Canceling in Your Teams

The use of High-fidelity and unidirectional microphones can be really great for calls but can also give you problems with audio, that is if if the noise suppression feature is enabled. To avoid that, you can simply disable the background noise canceling feature in the Teams app that is on your PC.

 

1. First, launch the Microsoft Teams app and then tap on your profile icon in the upper-right corner. Now tap Profile icon to open settings in Team

And that is it. Reducing the noise in the background will make your meetings and your calls go on smoothly without any disruption.
